About

The Knowledge Basket – Te kete o te wānanga was launched in November 1994 by former librarians, Linda Winterburn and Dave Keet in response to critical need to protect, preserve and provide access to, New Zealand information. The Knowledge Basket has gone from strength to strength ever since. We’ve remained a small New Zealand owned and operated company with a huge vision.

The Knowledge Basket provides a powerful search engine, to support search services to a set of databases, including Newztext – containing the full text of many newspapers, including Fairfax Newspapers (and exclusively, the STUFF archive), NZME (including the New Zealand Herald and their regional newspapers) the Radio New Zealand Newswire, Scoop, and National Business Review (exclusively) and many more. This and our other databases are available only by annual subscription – a “site licence” – providing your organisation with unlimited searching on all PC’s on your network.
